Can’t wait for this book!

Iowa To California

A few photos of beautiful Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, and California. Some of the landscape was absolutely breathtaking. The photos don’t do it justice.

New York To California

Over the past eight months a lot has transpired. I traveled from Rochester, New York to Muir Beach, California and gained so much insight in the middle. It has been a life lesson that has brought new people into my life, renewed old relationships and the loss of some current relationships.

Last summer I surprised myself by offering an old friend to come here and live while on a personal journey of self-discovery. This is what started the cross country trek. She was located in New York and asked if I’d come out and drive with her from New York to Iowa. The trip literally started when my flight landed in Rochester. We hopped in her car and set out for Iowa. It was a 16 hour trip of getting reacquainted and seeing the Eastern United States in the dark; as we drove from 5PM until midday the next afternoon. The plan was she’d stay with us, work to save cash, and move to California within a year’s time.

To say that everything went as planned is pretty far off. The job situation ended up being far from ideal. When I discussed the situation with her it was heavy on her mind, also. What the next step was, was answered the next day in the form of an e-mail with an offer for her to go to California.

Renewed Spirit

I’ll admit…I’ve sort of been in a rut. Nothing terrible, but feeling like I’ve been needing more of something, but not actually able to pinpoint exactly what it is. For quite some time I’ve been running away from certain possibilities feeling like “that’s definitely not for me”, or “I don’t have time for that in my life”, or “that can’t possibly help me”. So I’ve sort of just been letting things fall as they may.

A few of the things that have come into my path more than a few times are self-help and self-healing related. Again, just something I’ve totally been fighting to let enter my world. I’m not a health nut or guru and I certainly am not the most fit of individuals. So, this week I took the plunge. I gave in to all the signs and decided to follow where they lead. The first thing I did was follow the urge to read a book on diet, eating a raw diet and the benefits it brings. The other is a juice cleansing module. As of now, I don’t plan on doing a full-on juice cleanse, but just reading the health benefits and self healing it can promote is almost mind boggling. Enough that I went out and bought a juicer so I can slowly add fresh juicing into my daily routine. And I’m actually feeling like I’m following the path I’m supposed to be. It just feels right.

I’m on a mission to find a few more must read books on self healing and healthy lifestyles, so feel free to share any you think I’d love!
